One of the most important ways to prevent pests and keep them out of your home is to have an evaluation of your home done and eliminate the places where they are getting in.
Torn screens on your vents, doors, and porches are examples of areas that can be repaired to prevent ants, roaches, mice, and other pests from becoming uninvited guests. Look for areas with cracks, pipes, utility wiring, that can be caulked. Door thresholds and window sills might need new weather stripping added. Rotten wood around your roof and soffit can be easy entry for not only insects and rodents but wildlife such as squirrels and bats.
These are all fixes that can be done to eliminate pests without any pesticides being applied. If you are seeing pests in your home, they are getting in somewhere. Find and fix these problem areas and you are ahead in the game.
